Now the local search will increase with the Pigeon update

Panda, Penguin and now Pigeon enter the school of Google to teach new strategies to boost local search. Last Thursday, Google announced a new algorithm update called "Pigeon Update" (it's not an official name). Google called it Palomar because it starts with "P" and this is associated with a local search update and pigeons have a propensity to fly back home. The key changes are in the backend, however, it has an effect on the rankings of the local search results and some regional companies may find a decrease or an increase in site references, and they lead along with the change businesses. One thing that is clear shortly after the update is that Google has given more authority to the websites of the local directories by making them obtain better search visibility in the Google search results.
Pigeon Update In addition to that, Google has come out to solve what was previously known as the "Yelp problem". When users searched for anything registered on Yelp and added the word "Yelp", Google had trouble locating these pages at the top of Google's search results. Although, this has been changed now.
Recently, Google was charged by Yelp, which claimed that Google was misrepresenting the search results to display the Google's own regional listings that lead the Yelp pages, even when visitors included the word "Yelp" in their search keyword. . The Yelp report looked specifically at the situation looking for the term "Gary Dank Yelp", which is a restaurant in San Francisco, and showed that Google listed for the first time the official Gary Dank website along with numerous Google+ links, for example, reviews and their Google+ pages.
However, the situation has changed. Now, the Yelp page search will be displayed first when the search includes "Yelp." For example, now, when searching for "Gary Dank Yelp," Yelp searches appear first before the official website.
According to Google, the new local search algorithm will extend the horizon of its web search capabilities, incorporating the hundreds of classification signals used in web search along with search functions such as spell-checking, grammatical errors, Knowledge Graph synonyms and more. In addition, this new algorithm will improve the parameters of location and distance range.
The new Pigeon update is currently available for US search results in the US. UU and it intends to provide a more practical and meaningful experience for search engines looking for regional results. Google has not shared any details about when the update could be accessed more extensively in other countries and in different languages.

Other local directories get benefits too

Yelp is not just the local directory that gets the benefits of this update. Suppose that if you search for "restaurants in Florida," the first page will show only websites known as Florida restaurant directories. Continue scrolling down the page and you will see more directory pages for Florida restaurants from electronic journals and electronic news.
In general, it seems that Yelp and other local directory sites are experiencing greater online visibility after this update. This is rational for Google, as this update is consistent with their efforts to improve local results more intimately with standard online ranking signals. This will undoubtedly benefit the prominent directory sites such as Trip Advisor and Yelp.
Well, it can be said with certainty that Pigeon will appear as the best teacher who teaches you all the things necessary to succeed with the local search.
